1913 Society

The LDS-BSA Relationships office has organized a fundraising group whose purpose is to provide additional financial support for many of the Scouting-related activities of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In recognition of the year of the original charter between the Church and the Boy Scouts of America, the organization is called the 1913 Society.

The one-time or annual gift of members benefits the following activities:

• The annual Priesthood Leadership Conference on Scouting at the Philmont Scout Reservation in New Mexico
• LDS Scouting representation at world and national Scout jamborees
• Training of LDS stake and ward leaders at Little Philmont training meetings
• The education of Scouting professionals and volunteers at annual and semi-annual general conferences.

As a membflight-to-manhood-statue-largeer of the 1913 Society, you are not just donating financially; you are joining a group of Scouters who are dedicated to furthering the cause of Scouting throughout the Church.

A 1913 Society event occurs annually during general conference week in October. The event is held in Salt Lake City and all members of the 1913 Society are invited to attend.

Renowned artist Peter M. Fillerup of Wild West Designs, Inc. has graciously assisted the LDS-BSA Relationships office with artwork that will be presented to new members of the 1913 Society.
